BLOGGER TEAM - JYVETTE - PRIDE

When I hear the word Pride the first few words that spring to mind are pompous, boastful, show off and ego.

Let's establish this, having pride is not always a bad thing but for these purposes we are looking at Pride in the Kingdom.

I will be exploring Pride in service alongside Humility.

We must take pride in what we do- honour our work but it becomes a problem when we pour that pride over someone else. We are all part of one body-the Body of Christ, every part of the body has its function no part should feel more important.

I have come to witness this issue as a problem especially in the house of God some people who are 'directly' in service to God perhaps as a preacher, teacher, praise and worship leader, evangelist .etc. Feel like they are better than those who for example, clean the church- but what we need to remember is what would happen if those people cleaning weren't around? the place would be dirty who would come to even hear you minister  if your church was dirty?

Let us respect everyone, I've heard a testimony of a woman who humbled herself and made it her duty to open the church doors for every service, clean the place and leave because she had to go to work so she couldn't stay for service - she had a request that she had put before God- because of this humility God did not waste time in answering her prayer. Had she gone around telling everyone I clean before everyone comes to church boastfully- would God have hastily answered her need? We need to remember Bible says "your Father who sees what is done in secret, will reward you openly."

When you are in service to God do it from your heart- show no interest in what man has got to say because your only concern should be, being a vessel to Glorify God!

Your humility will enable you to touch much more lives than if you are full of pride -be among the people, be approachable "for even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve" we are called to be like Jesus! If Jesus behaved like the High Priests, teachers of the Law .etc. Who would have been comfortable to approach him for healing as he was passing by? You would fear for your life to even go near one of the rulers of those days! The protocol to even see one of them would be very rigid.

Jesus didn't walk around pridefully saying I am the Son of God so listen to me so neither should we. When his disciples turned anyone away Jesus would always tell them off and let the people come to Him because after all He is for the people.

When you are humble people even forget your age, age no longer becomes a factor you speak with younger people like you are one of them and you speak with older people with the same humble respect. Humble yourself so God can lift you up, if you are already up where can God take you -only to bring you back down!

Kill your pride- Remain Humble.

Stay blessed

Jyvette
