Since the fall in the Garden of Eden, God’s people have been
struggling with sin. From the beginning of time, God the Father had the plan to
send His only son, out of His loving kindness and richness in grace, to redeem
the world from their wrong doing. Jesus, the Chosen One appointed by God to
rescue the world from everlasting darkness, has provided the way to be redeemed
and forgiven of all transgression, as well as to be washed as white as snow from
all sin. (Isaiah 1:18)
We are redeemed through the sacrificial death that Jesus
Christ experienced for us. He was arrested, beaten, and crucified for the sake
of our justification and right standing with God in heaven. Through the death
on the cross, we recognize the laying down of mankind’s sins and failures to
follow God’s commandments and we are given eternal hope of salvation under the
name of Jesus, who voluntarily lays His precious life down for our sake. 2
Corinthians 5:21 tells us that ‘’God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the
offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.’’
We are assured that through God’s will to send Jesus to earth as a form of God
manifested in the human flesh, our relationship with God is reconciled and we
are now inseparable to the love of God through the act of sacrifice of Christ
Jesus (Romans 8:31-39).
Jesus pays a ransom to enable us to receive the freedom we
do not rightfully deserve, but are granted through His heart grace. That ransom
is shown through His blood; blood that heals, cleanses of all unrighteousness,
and covers each and every sin. (1 John: 7) Hebrews 9:12 speaks on the
importance of the blood of Jesus, boldly emphasising that it is not merely an
animals blood, but the blood of the true Son of God that entered the Holy Place
with God and secured our redemption
forever. When we reflect on Jesus as the Redeemer of our sins, it is easy for
us to be taken back by the magnitude of love God has for His people, and the
depth He went to, in order for us to be reunited with Him through Jesus Christ.
Let us ensure that our meditating of Jesus as Redeemer comes from a place of
indescribable gratitude, and regardless of our inability to ever compensate for
His sacrifice, we continue to present our lives and bodies to God for His glory,
as a sign of our thankfulness.
Jesus the Redeemer of our sin renewed the purity that was
once lost when sin entered the world through Adam and Eve’s disobedience to
God. Through the mind blowing high price that He paid, we are freed from condemnation
through repentance and belief in His redeeming sacrifice. Via the cross, our
lives are made pure and we no longer have to live in guilt and shame because of
sin we once committed, but are confident in the restoration our Redeemer made
possible for us by dying on Calvary whilst we were STILL sinners and unaware of
His unfailing love for us.
Our grounds of hope and expectation for the fulfilment of
God’s eternal promise are also fulfilled through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 4:30 -
And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy
Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing
that you will be saved on the day of redemption. When we are drawn by God
to make the decision to receive Christ and are made God’s children, as believers
we look at the final redemption that is made possible through the sacrifice He so
willingly endured for us. Ephesians points us that we are identified as God’s
own people and that our sin no longer defines us, but instead because of our
chosen Redeemer , Jesus Christ, we can cling to the day we are reunited with
Him, all because of His heart which yearned to captivate, forgive, sanctify and
SAVE His people.
